In this performance piece, Calixto Neto invites the audience to witness the preparation of a feijoada, the symbolic but originally controversial dish of Brazilian gastronomy. The cooking time will be the time of the evening. A “roda de samba” sets the pace of the evening, alternating songs that weave a dialogue with the stages of preparation of the dish and the interventions of texts, political discussions and dances of the invited performers. The feijoada is prepared with a transdisciplinary artistic team composed of a Brazilian chef, artists Yure Romão, Ana Laura Nascimento and many others, gathered here for this choreogastronomic work.
