Altamira 2042 rassemble les voix les plus diverses de l’Amazonie dans une performance éblouissante, thématisant l’une des grandes catastrophes écologiques du Brésil liée à la construction controversée du barrage de Belo Monte, situé dans l’État fédéral du Pará. Grâce à un dispositif techno-chamanique, l’artiste multiforme Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha fait intervenir sur scène une polyphonie d’êtres mécano-spirituels, faits de haut-parleurs, de têtes de projecteurs, de lumières LED ou d’instruments de musique, dans une performance rituelle qui irrigue les sens. Des sons, chants et images, comme autant de témoignages humains et non humains sur l’impact nocif de ce barrage sur l’environnement et les populations locales.
Altamira 2042 brings together the most diverse voices from the Amazon in a dazzling performance, thematising one of Brazil’s great ecological disasters linked to the controversial construction of the Belo Monte dam in the federal state of Pará. Thanks to a techno-shamanic device, the multiform artist Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha brings on stage a polyphony of mechano-spiritual beings, made of loudspeakers, projector heads, LED lights or musical instruments, in a ritual performance that irrigates the senses. Sounds, songs and images, as human and non-human testimonies on the harmful impact of this dam on the environment and the local populations.
